What is an Extra Service Home?

An Extra service Home provides additional “hotel” like services or lifestyle extras, including higher standards of accommodation, food and services including such items as private rooms, en suite facilities, quality furnishings and recreational areas or services in relation to the choice and quality of food. Our Extra Service Home receives approval from the Commonwealth Government to offer these additional services for a higher daily care fee and accommodation bond. The term “Extra Service” should only refer to the standard of accommodation, meals and entertainment and not to the level of care, which is legislated to be of a high standard across all aged care homes.

What extra Services are available at Trinity Manor?

Trinity Manor offers the following features

· Individual single rooms with a large floor area

· Individually controllable heating and cooling systems

· Smart room technology for dementia rooms.

· Private function/dining room for elders and visitors

· Colour coordinated decor and quality fittings.

· Superior quality floor coverings

· Flat screen Television to each room with remote control.

· Telephone to each room.

· Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in elders' rooms, when requested and appropriate.

· Foxtel with limited Channels to each room.

· Electric adjustable bed with handheld control.

· Provision for internet Connection to all rooms.

· Computer and Foxtel connection capability provided to all rooms

· Dedicated undercover parking for Elder’s visitors with lift access to all floors.

· Spa bath facility.

· Multifunction room complete with chapel and movie projector.

· Choice of internal and external relaxation/recreation area.

· Multiple-course meals menu developed by the input from Elders, chef and overseen by a qualified Dietician.

· Meals available for guests on request for a minimal cost.

· Choice of quality wine, beer, soft drinks at main meals

· Pre-dinner drinks / cocktail time / happy hour at least once a week.

· Selection beverages including wines, beer and sherry.

· BBQs / special occasion meals provided over and above routine social and cultural meals and events provided.

· Enhanced entertainment experience with large screen televisions, and movie theatre.

· Substantial DVD / video library, with regular updating of stock and/or library of at least 100 books available, in good condition, and suitable for elders to read, including large print books.

· Daily newspapers delivered on request. Magazines and journals are available in the common areas.

· Recreational program 7 days per week including bus outings.

· In-room aromatherapy treatments available upon request

· Dedicated quality grooming and hairdressing salon.

· Physiotherapy available

· Superior brand toiletries, linen and washing services.

· Provision of escort to outside appointments.

· On site café / kiosk for the use of elders and visitors

· For additional cost as you go following services are available

· Visiting professionals provide regular facials and manicures to elders for an additional cost

· Relaxing herbal spa treatments

· Acupuncture and alternative therapies

· Professional visiting masseurs, specialising in (for example) relaxing massage and raiki healing massage.

· The provision of a pick-up and delivery service for dry cleaning

 

 

What are the admission criteria to be an elder at Trinity Manor?

Trinity Manor can provide care to the elders, who are assessed for a high care accommodation by the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS).

Can I leave the home to visit or stay with relatives & friends?

We encourage you to take therapeutic leaves of absence. A responsible person must sign you out of the facility. With your best interest in mind, the care manager reserves the right to refuse a leave. Kindly provide 24 hour notice prior to therapeutic leaves to give us the opportunity to prepare medications and special requests.

How will I do my banking?

We can provide assistance in transport to and from banks or obtaining alternative assistance through either State Trustees or the Office of the Public Advocate.

When will I see my doctor & what if I become ill?

You will be encouraged to choose an attending physician that will agree to visit you and be available on call for you 24-hours a day. Charges by your attending physician are not the responsibility of Trinity Manor and must be paid by Medicare, you or your insurance.

How will I get to other needed doctor appointments?

Ambulance service provides all emergency and special needs transportation for you. We have a personal escort that will help schedule and take you to routine appointments.

Can I get the local newspaper?

You can choose one from either The Age or Herald Sun, which is included in the standard cost.

When are visiting hours and who can visit me?

We encourage friends and families to visit often. There are many areas comfortable for children and families such as “Café Westbury”, courtyard and gardens, the Activity Centre and the Family Room. Guests may visit during meal time and can purchase guest meals.

What should I bring with me when I come to live at Trinity Manor?

We encourage you to bring comfort items such as quilts, family photos, a radio, a clock or other small items that will personalise your room. Your room will be furnished with a bed and linens, wall lamps, in built wardrobe and TV. A checklist for suggested clothing items is on the final page of your admission packet. All items brought in will need to be inventoried and labelled. You are advised not to keep any money, cheque books, credit cards, valuable jewellery or expensive items in your room. Trinity Manor can not be held responsible for lost or stolen items. (All clothing and personal property must be inventoried and labelled with your name.) We can provide and apply iron-on labels to your clothing upon admission. For the safety of all, furniture not supplied by Trinity Manor, (i.e. recliners, tables, chairs, stands), must meet health and safety requirements. Our maintenance department is required to approve all items before they are placed in your room. We reserve the right to refuse or dispose of unsuitable furnishings.

Do I need to bring personal hygiene items?

Personal hygiene items such as: facial tissues, sorbolene, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc. are supplied to you. If you wish, you may bring other items at your discretion. However, prescriptions and over-the counter medications must be ordered by your physician.

What do I do when I'm ready to return home or transfer out?

The Care Manager typically needs notified 7 business days prior to transfer to arrange a complete discharge.

If I smoke, where can I go to smoke?

If you wish to smoke you can do so only in designated areas. These areas are is on the porch outside the Theatre Room. Matches, lighters, and cigarettes may not be left with Elders, but kept with the care manager. We ask that visitors retire outdoors to smoke.

Can I have a phone?

There are state of the art telephones is provided in each room. These can be activated with an additional cost. The Care Manager can help answer any further questions you may have.

Can I have a TV?

Your room is complete with a television set and FOXTEL (Only a limited channels are available). Televisions are individually controlled.

Where & how will I get my prescriptions?

Trinity Manor has a contract arrangement with a Pharmacy to provide pharmaceutical services to you. The Pharmacy meets the rigid standards required by our Licensing Agencies & provides quality services. All medications must be ordered by the attending physician. No medications are to be given by family members. Medications purchased from another pharmacy prior to admission cannot be used. Our Care Managers are available to discuss any medication changes or recommendations. Arrangements for alternative pharmaceutical vendors can be made; however, these vendors must also adhere to our strict standards. 

How much will it cost to stay at Trinity Manor?

All elders pay a weekly fee. The amount you pay depends upon your income. Elders may also pay an accommodation bond. The accommodation bond and weekly fee is discussed below.

How much will it cost to stay at Trinity Manor?

First - you need to submit your Aged Care Assessment.

 

Second - Take the tour! We invite you to come, take a tour, join us for lunch, sit a spell and have a look for yourself. We also want you to tour other homes before you make the choice as to which home is right for you.

 

Third – Fill out the admission application and return it to us. You can drop it off, mail it, or fax it to 9817-2028.

 

Fourth - Give us a call! After we have received an application we will need to speak with you regarding the details of your admission and finances. Our Director of Care and Managing director will provide answers to your questions and help you through the admission process.
