What is the admission criteria to be an elder at Trinity Manor?

Trinity Manor provides care to elders who have been assessed for high or low level residential care by the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS).

How much will it cost to stay at Trinity Manor?

Can I leave the home to visit or stay with relatives and friends?

You are eligible for 52 days of social leave per financial year to enable you to visit family or have a holiday. We would appreciate you providing us with a 24-hour notice prior to any social leave so that we have an opportunity to prepare any medication or equipment you may require.

How will I do my banking?

We can provide assistance in transport to and from banks or obtaining alternative assistance through either State Trustees or the Office of the Public Advocate.

When will I see my doctor and what if I become ill?

You will be encouraged to choose an attending physician that will agree to visit you and be available on call for you 24-hours a day.

Charges by your attending physician are not the responsibility of Trinity Manor and must be paid by Medicare, you or your insurance.

How will I get to other medical appointments?

Ambulance services provide all emergency and special needs transportation for you. We have a personal escort that will help schedule and take you to routine appointments at a cost where we have sufficient notice.

Can I get the local newspaper

You can choose as part of your additional services package.

When are the visiting hours, and who can visit me?

This is your home, and we encourage friends and families to visit often. There are many areas comfortable for children and families such as “Café Westbury”, courtyard and gardens, the Activity Centre and the Family Room. Guests may visit during meal time and can purchase guest meals.

What should I bring with me when I come to live at Trinity Manor?

Your room will be furnished with a bed and linens, wall lamps, in built wardrobe and TV. We encourage you to bring comfort items such as quilts, family photos, a radio, a clock or other small items that will personalise your room and make you feel at home. A checklist for suggested clothing items is on the final page of your admission packet. We recommend that all items brought be listed and labelled. You are encouraged not to keep any money, cheque books, credit cards, valuable jewellery or expensive items in your room. Trinity Manor can not be held responsible for lost or stolen items. (All clothing and personal property should be inventoried and labelled with your name.) We can provide and apply iron-on labels to your clothing upon admission. For the safety of all, furniture not supplied by Trinity Manor, (i.e. recliners, tables, chairs, stands), must meet health and safety requirements. Our maintenance department is required to approve all items before they are placed in your room. We reserve the right to refuse or dispose of unsuitable furnishings. If you bring any electrical items such as computers, lamps, or electric radios and clocks, each item will need to be tagged by our visiting electrician for your safety and the safety of others.

Do I need to bring personal hygiene items?

We will provide the following items for every resident but you may wish to supply your own if you have a brand of choice:

– Soap
– Toothpaste
– Toothbrush
– Tissues
– Denture cleaning preparation
– Disposable razor blades
– Mouthwash
– Moisturiser
– Shaving cream
– Deodorant
– Shampoo
– Conditioner

What do I do when I’m ready to return home or transfer out?

We would appreciate a 7-day notice in writing that you wish to depart. We ask that you advise the Care Manager who will then be able to arrange any transfer medication and other arrangements.

If I smoke, where can I go to smoke?

Our residential aged care services are non-smoking services. Smoking is not permitted within or on any Trinity Care service buildings, grounds or vehicles. This applies to residents, relatives, friends and any other visitors or persons who come to the service. If you decide to give up smoking during your stay, we can help you.

Can I have a phone?

There are state of the art telephones provided in each room. These can be activated with an additional cost. The Care Manager can help answer any further questions you may have.

Can I have a TV?

Your room is complete with a television set. Televisions are individually controlled. You may choose additional Foxtel channels at an additional cost. Please discuss with the Marketing & Admissions Manager.

Where and how will I get my prescriptions?

Trinity Manor has a contract arrangement with its preferred pharmacy to provide pharmaceutical prescription services to you in accordance with your prescriptions from your GP. This pharmacist is able to provide urgent medications at any time should you require urgent analgesia or antibiotics.

However, elders are allowed to choose their own pharmacy. We recommend that if you wish to use another pharmacy, to make sure that it can provide emergency services. Any pharmacy must adhere to our strict standards to ensure the safety of the elders. Medications are supplied from the pharmacy directly rather than being provided by the elder or family members.

Personal hygiene items such as: facial tissues, sorbolene, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc. are supplied to you. If you wish, you may bring other items at your discretion. However, prescriptions and over-the counter medications must be ordered by your physician.
